Hamdi al-Najar, 40, a doctor at Nasser Hospital, succumbed to his injuries to an Israeli air raid, according to local health officials. The attack took place on May 23, when Israeli forces bombed the family’s home in Han Juni, southern Gaza, killing nine of his ten children. He had just returned to his home after accompanying his wife Alaa, a pediatrician in the Nasser Medical Complex, to her work.
