The acceptance of the telecommuting model at Eurobank exceeded 80%

By Leonidas Stergiou

On June 24, the hybrid working model at Eurobank started, which gives the option of teleworking for two to three days a week. The acceptance rate from the workers who could join this work program exceeds 80%.

This hybrid work model, which is called “Work@Home-Work on Premises” applies to all employees in the Bank and the group’s subsidiaries, with the exception of the branch network and private banking units, where there is physical contact That is, it concerns approximately 3,700 employees, a number that corresponds to more than 60% of Eurobank who can choose to work from home and the office.

To date, 81% of all employees who have had the opportunity to implement the hybrid work model have adopted it. The participation range per general address ranges between 75% and 95%.

Abroad

Telecommuting and the combination of work from home and the office is now a central trend, which was established by the restrictive measures during the pandemic internationally. The impressive thing is that this model is now spreading in all sectors, even in the banking sector. Already, major financial groups such as Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Citibank, etc. have already opted for hybrid work models, giving their employees the ability to choose whether and when to work from home or the office. Also, according to a survey by Focus Bari, 70% of the Greek respondents are absolutely and probably in favor of telecommuting. Correspondingly are the results of other surveys in Greece such as that of Randstad etc.

Of course, the telecommuting model is not something new only for Eurobank. All Greek banks and many businesses, mainly in the service sector, operated in this way during the two years of the pandemic, and many departments still continue in the same way.

Penny Maniati

As it is declared to capital.gr Mrs. Penny Maniati, Assistant General Manager of Eurobank Group, head of the Organization and Business Analysis Department, “the pandemic crisis highlighted opportunities as our digital transformation was further and drastically accelerated to support the change in how our customers, individuals and businesses, manage their daily transactions in a lockdown environment. We were among the few large companies in Greece that managed to switch, immediately, at least 4,000 of our employees to full-time telecommuting.”
