Representatives of the agency reported that the organizers of the financial pyramid of Warner Bros convinced customers to invest in the project, promising them a high income from views of advertising content and for inviting new participants. The average deposit amount was 225,000 tenge, and scammers accepted the payment exclusively in USDT.
During the investigative measures, cryptocurrency wallets were identified, which were used to receive funds from customers and transfer to the accounts of attackers. By the court’s decision, cryptocurrency assets in the amount of 3.8 million USDT were seized, the agency specified.
Earlier, AFM Kazakhstan reported that an investigation was completed in Almaty in the case of illegal circulation of cryptocurrency. The organizer of the cryptocurrency exchanger was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.
