The Aktor-Intrakat consortium is a temporary contractor for the project ‘Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni’

After the evaluation of the binding bids, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport announces the temporary contractor for the road project “Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni”, with a budget of 250 million euros.

Temporary Contractor of the project is the Association of Persons AKTOR CONCESSIONS – INTRACAT. Now, construction work is expected to begin by the end of the year.

It is noted that the project includes:
Improving and upgrading about 20 km of existing roads,
The construction of a new highway in a length of about 30 km,
The adaptation and improvement of 7 km of vertical road network,
The construction of a new side road network of 40 km,
The construction of 12 bridges
Many accompanying technical works such as level nodes, hydraulic works, retaining walls, etc.
Construction of 15 km of local access roads.

This road project is expected to upgrade the road network of the Peloponnese and Western Greece in general, while road safety is significantly improved.

In a statement, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Costas Karamanlis, stated that: “Another PPP tender has developed at a very fast pace, proving that hard work pays off. The focus of our effort is to offer citizens roads with high levels of road safety. The road project “Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni” will ensure fast and safe transportation for residents and visitors. At the same time, the modern highway that will be built, will contribute decisively to the overall development of the area “.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, in charge of Infrastructure, Mr. George Karagiannis stated: “A few days after Flyover in Thessaloniki, another important road project through PPP in the Peloponnese this time, the project ” Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni “, with a budget of 250 million euros, is proceeding to the next phase. Now we have a contractor for this project as well. will enhance development in the Peloponnese and throughout Western Greece, will significantly upgrade road safety and will provide residents and visitors with speed and comfort in transportation “.
