Heather Morgan, accused of being involved in the Bitfinex hack, has broken her silence. She stated that she does not support any cryptocurrency projects that mention her name.
Heather Morgan, known as a street rapper from New York under the pseudonym Razzlekhan, posted a concise tweet to her followers on social networks a few days ago. She last tweeted a few days before her arrest.
“I am not involved in any cryptocurrency project. Any crypto or NFT start-up that lists my name or has my photo posted is a scam and I do not condone,” Morgan wrote.
In February, US police arrested Morgan and her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein. They are accused of laundering bitcoins stolen in the Bitfinex hack in 2016. Law enforcement seized more than 94,000 BTC from them.
The same month, a court released Morgan on $3.6 billion bail. According to a federal judge’s decision, Morgan can continue to work during her pre-trial release. Liechtenstein is still in detention.
This year, Netflix announced that it plans to release a docu-series about this high-profile couple who tried to launder stolen bitcoins.
