The Americans have come up with a patch that generates electricity from sweat. You can charge your watch in a dream

UCLA engineers in Joule magazine announced that they have managed to create the world’s first device capable of generating electricity from the sweat of a person’s body while he is sitting in a state of calm or even in the process of sleep. It is worth noting that the production of electricity from human sweat is not something incredible or new – this process has been known for a long time. Moreover, in March of this year, a whole shirt was already created that converts a person’s sweat into electricity with a very high efficiency, but this solution requires a very active body movements from a person.

Accordingly, there is simply no point in using such developments – in the process of intense physical exertion, a person spends much more energy than he produces, which completely eliminates the need for the same shirt. And this is precisely the feature of the new development of American engineers – their solution generates electricity while a person is in a calm state and does not spend his own energy. To do this, the developers decided to use a part of the body that sweats very intensely even in a state of calm – we are talking about the fingertips.

According to research results, 100-1000 more sweat is produced on the fingertips per day than on any other part of the body – usually people do not notice this corny, since the sweat from the fingers evaporates quickly. Further, the engineers had only to develop a special patch that is attached to the finger to convert sweat into electrical energy. The solution turned out to be very effective, since during ten hours of sleep, the human body emits enough sweat to convert it into energy necessary to charge the smartwatch for a whole day of battery life.
