Pointing out that credibility and relationships of trust in politics are built on the consistency between words and deeds and promoting the government’s truth agreement with the citizens, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the Amfilochia Bypass road, which is now open to traffic.
“A series of projects that were bogged down, with great patience and persistence the Ministry of Infrastructure untangled them, so that today we are at the happy point of having moved from models and plans to the delivery of projects, which change the lives of Greek citizens in the entire territory…”, Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized, characterizing the project as extremely important for the whole of Western Greece. “It is the first part of a project that will be completed in 2023 and we hope that the company will show the same speed and the whole project will be delivered earlier than what we had planned…”, he noted, highlighting another dimension. That of the exceptional, as he mentioned, human resources that the country has in the construction sector.
“Three regions are connected to the project… It is a project that will breathe new life into Lefkada, Preveza, the whole of Aitoloakarnania… It is a project that should have been completed a long time ago and we are glad that our own government has delivers to the citizens within the timescales we had agreed upon…Besides the economic benefits I want to dwell on one dimension that we attach particular importance to.And that is the dimension of road safety…Most accidents in our country do not occur on modern highways . And as we have recommended road safety as a central pillar of our policy, safe highways are only one framework of this policy and this road will significantly reduce traffic accidents in the wider region…”, the Prime Minister emphasized.
Mr. Mitsotakis made an extensive reference to the major projects that are underway throughout the territory. Patra-Pyrgos, the Northern Road Axis of Crete, where there will be an active construction site before the end of the year.
“We want to be judged for our works and not for our words. And as the government enters its fourth and final year of government, the imprint of our interventions in the field of projects is felt throughout Greece…Greece is changing. quickly. It is changing for the better and becoming a modern European country… It looks to the future with optimism. Despite the great difficulties, we remain consistent in completing your programmatic commitments, so that at the end of the four years we can once again claim the trust of the Greek people people and to continue our work…”, pointed out Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
