Inflation in Germany, measured by the consumer price index CPI, was -0.8% in NovemberDestatis reports in its preliminary estimate Monday. This reading arrives after the 0.1% increase observed in October and has been worse than the market expectation of -0.7%.

Furthermore, the consumer price index Harmonized CPI, the inflation indicator preferred by the European Central Bank, plummeted to -0.7% annually and it was below analysts’ estimate of -0.5%.
