The invitation to submit applications of the candidates for admission, during the next educational series, to the Schools of Guides of Athens, Thessaloniki and Rhodes of the Ministry of Tourism was published.
For their participation in the selection process, the candidates can submit an application, from 14.06.2022 until 27.06.2022, in a special link on the website www.mintour.edu.gr.
It is pointed out that on the initiative of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sofia Zacharaki, from 2021 -in the context of the overall upgrade of tourism education in our country- the institutional framework of the Guides Schools was updated and modernized after many years, the quality of studies was upgraded, while added and new modern objects with new courses of special forms of tourism and virtual tours for students. At the same time, the number of places increased, so that the Schools can absorb even more students.
The “x-ray” of the study programs:
Attendance at the five -secondary, professional- Guide Schools of the Ministry of Tourism, throughout Greece, is two years and free.
– Exams are not required for admission to the Schools.
– Candidate students are admitted to the Schools with a simple application that they submit electronically and are selected in order of priority, based on the scoring of their qualifications.
– Upon completion of their course, graduates obtain a diploma and a certificate of legal requirements for the practice of touring, which gives them the exclusive right to conduct tours to individuals, tourism companies – hotels and in general, the exclusive right, based on law 710/1977, the provision of tour services in Greece.

Through coordinated actions, we managed this year and for the next academic year -for the first time since their inception- to “feed”, at the same time, the tourism sector and the five Schools of Guides that we founded throughout Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Crete and Corfu), with graduates fully trained and with full professional rights in order to cover as much as possible the needs of the market.
Upgrading tourism education is a fundamental concern for us. At the Ministry of Tourism, we are constantly working to better connect the curricula with both current developments and the needs of the labor market.
