The Austrian newspaper Der Standard repeated the propaganda narrative of the Russian Federation, calling the “civil” Russian-Ukrainian war in the Donbass. This was outraged on Twitter by the Ukrainian Ambassador to Austria, Alexander Shcherba.

The ambassador published a screenshot of the Der Standard material, which came out under the headline “Ukraine wants to join NATO, civil war breaks out again.”

“Ukrainian land. Russian flags, soldiers, weapons are on one side. Ukrainian ones are on the other. But this is not an occupation, but a” civil war “for Der Standard,” Shcherba wrote.

The ambassador also asked the newspaper when the time would come for an honest discussion.

“Dear Der Standard, will the time ever come for an honest discussion of what you call ‘civil war’, or are you only admitting one point of view?” – wrote Shcherba in another tweet.
