The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation has developed a document that provides for the introduction of domestic electronics for the implementation of end-to-end projects with the participation of major state-owned companies such as Rosneft, Aeroflot, Rosselkhozbank, Rosneftegaz, Rosseti, RusHydro, VTB and so on. In accordance with the document, these companies will have to purchase computers, components and other equipment of Russian design as part of the import substitution policy in order to increase demand for Russian products and support their production.
The end-to-end project is the transfer of the information infrastructure of Russian companies to domestic processors and the creation of their own software and hardware systems for cloud and information platforms. According to Kommersant, the participation of the largest state corporations in such projects is one of the schemes for import substitution of electronics. To date, the Russian authorities have approved 20 end-to-end projects; they plan to allocate 800 billion rubles for their implementation and, in general, to support Russian electronics over the next four years.
