Industry reports are postponed indefinitely, all the few conferences and events that were to take place are canceled and the situation, with the current data, is not expected to improve before the beginning of April, they report. In the meantime, the hotels of the mountains and do not ask not to be compared with the short-term rental accommodation type Airbnb that “open” Christmas, Easter and which do not have the same obligations: No VAT, no residence tax, no tax on parasites, no increased fees They do not pay for cleaning and lighting, they do not employ staff, they do not apply sanitary protocols, they do not have the certificates and licenses that are needed for their operation.
In their requests the hoteliers ask:
– Immediate disbursement of the outstanding amounts to be paid to the companies by the action of the “Working capital subsidy affected by the pandemic of tourism hospitality companies”.
-Immediate completion of the repayment of the amounts due to the companies from the program “Tourism for all” and from the program of Social Tourism of OAED (without deductions for payment of tax and insurance obligations)
-Reduction of the minimum working time of the employees who are included in the COOPERATION below 50%
-Extension of the BRIDGE II program until 30-6-2022
-Suspension of tax and insurance liabilities (including adjustment installments) until 31-3-2022
-Energy subsidy for heating oil
Regarding the performance of the hotels of the mountains in the 15th day of this festive season, their occupancy started from 15% and reached 55% in specific areas. Specifically, Drama this year achieved a fullness of 35% when the 15-day festive period of 2019 had 85%. Imathia with the two ski resorts was 34% full this year 15 days and at the same time 2 of its units did not open. In 2019, it is recalled that the occupancy rate in Imathia was 95%.
In Kalavrita the occupancy after 8/1/2022 does not exceed even 25%, as the local association points out, while in terms of the data provided by the Peloponnese Tourist Organization, the occupancy during the 15 days this year was 55%, while in 2019 it had reached 100%.
