The possibility of banning or putting very strict restrictions on travelers’ entry from 43 countries is being considered by the US, according to the New York Times. Citing officials who asked for their anonymity to be complied with, the newspaper writes that these countries will be divided into three categories. The first, “Red”, includes Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen. Citizens of these countries will be completely banned from entering the US. Ten countries (Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan and Turkmenistan) will be the second category, the “orange”. Wealthy entrepreneurs and those traveling for jobs will be licensed to the US, but not those who want to enter the country with a tourist visa or as immigrants.
