The Bank of Russia published a warning on his website, saying that scammers are actively using crypto acts to deceive people and laundering illegal income. Such schemes are often associated with shadow business and illegal cryptocurrency exchangers, representatives of the Central Bank said.
“The organizers of the scheme are masking crypto payments, directly connecting consumers of services with attackers. Thus, an individual can unconsciously become an actual participant in illegal operations, ”the regulator’s website says.
When buying cryptocurrencies on an illegal crypto-story, a person can unconsciously transfer money to a seller’s card associated with financing criminal activity, and in illegal online casinos, transfers of digital assets can be associated with the purchase of drugs, warned the Central Bank.
The Bank of Russia said that interaction with illegal crypto floods threatens to block bank accounts.
Earlier, the Russian Central Bank urged credit organizations to track and identify transfers carried out through cryptocurrency exchangers using corporate cards.
