The Bank of Russia will conduct a large -scale campaign to popularize the digital ruble, the deputy chairman of the regulator Zulfiya Kakhrumanova said at the Central Bank’s financial congress.

According to her, research materials show that the trust of the population and business in a new payment tool is gradually growing.

“We will certainly conduct a communication campaign. In fact, the issue of understanding the population, for what it is needed is just the task that is now. Translations in digital rubles are free, and this is an important parameter, ”Kakhrumanova said.

She emphasized that the regulator will be on an ongoing basis to maintain a zero commission with a digital form of national currency for the speedy introduction of an asset into everyday life.

At the moment, the digital ruble platform is working in test mode. In 2024, the pilot parameters were expanded, which allowed to gradually increase the number of users to 9,000 citizens and 12,000 companies. The massive implementation of the digital ruble is planned in 2026.

Earlier, the Bank of Russia said that by early June, 2500 wallets of individuals and legal entities were discovered on the platform of the Russian “state stabelcoin”, and 150 banks in more than 150 cities were available with the asset.
