The Batman arrives in theaters and the black Gotham City invades the wardrobe

From March 3 we all return to Gotham City and, given that the atmosphere of the city has always been decidedly dark, we just have to make room in the closet for a new wave of black, at least until the next explosion of color in view of the summer. And we are all happy with it, because in the end we know that like black on, no one ever.

The long-awaited film confirms this diktat of style The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, who just watching the trailer sends the desire to show off total black literally from head to toe in style Robert Pattinson (which collects the legacy of Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, George Clooney and all the batmen of the past), but above all because Zoë Kravitzat his side, it is simply wow wrapped in the dark clothes of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.

After all, who can ever forget the patent leather suit sported exactly thirty years ago by Michelle Pfeiffer (the most loved in this role) in the film Batman Returns of 1992?

Judging from the first images leaked some time ago from the set of The Batman we immediately felt the same shiver down our spine: we will certainly see a sartorial performance (also) by Lenny’s daughter whose put in the movie they seem to resume what is trendiest at the moment, namely leather (have you noticed the rain of stars dressing entire outfits or details leather?). Certainly already loved by Julia Fox and Kim Kardashian the shiny trench coat completed by lace-up boots and a matching fascinator worn by Zoë Kravitz in the (cool) clothes of Selina who also hints at this off duty, to the aesthetics of Catwoman.

And the references to the wardrobe of the cat woman come from fiction to reality when the American actress, for the premiere of the film in London, focused on the elegance of total black wrapped in a sinuous mermaid dress designed by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent (maison of which Kravitz is testimonial), with bold cut-outs under the breast that left the under boob in sight, recalling at the same time the bat logo.

While in Paris the star made another style statement by re-channeling her inner Catwoman with a black leather trench coat from the 2022 resort collection of Saint Laurent paired with a fitted black fishnet top and fishnet stockings. For an extra touch of refinement à la Selina Kyle, she refined the ensemble with Manolo Blahnik pumps in patent leather and a pair of sunglasses from The Row. When it says, get into the role with the whole closet.

In short, that the world of the dark knight is à la page is clear (because even Robert Pattinson, defined as the most beautiful man in the world, is not joking).

To add to the fashion hype, if there is one thing that Warner Bros. (which produces the film) and DC Comics (the comics from which the characters of Batman are born) have never let it slip, it is the possibility of electrify fans with aa wide range of merchandising dedicated to the rich feature film. As for properly the fashion system, Lanvin, French label beloved in Hollywood, has provided Catwoman and partner with a prêt-à-porter restyling. The fashion house’s Spring / Summer 2022 collection, due out in March, includes Gotham City style garments and accessories ranging from blazers to purple leather skirts, from wire mesh dresses to bags and shoes decorated with vintage illustrations of Batman and the cat woman.

While in New York the merchandise of the film arrives in the deluxe stores of Saks Fifth Avenue with a tailor-made pop up in which to find, from March 15 to March 29, not only Lanvin clothing but also the capsule collections dedicated to brands such as EleVen by Venus Williams and Maison Labiche, as well as accessories, beauty products, toys and collectibles.
