A video went viral last week showing his news anchor BBC Maryam Moshiri with middle finger raised. She hadn’t realized they were live on air and said she was sorry that “offended or upset anyone.” “I didn’t “greet” the viewers or even one person in reality. It was a silly joke intended for a small number of my associates”.
The full video was released on Friday just before the presenter appeared on air with her middle finger raised at the camera and it is confirmed that the woman was counting down before the unfortunate incident.
In the video, Moshiri can be seen actually counting down using the fingers of her hand, and humorously raises her middle finger while still in the air.
The BBC presenter’s full video
After the video was posted, Moshiri shared a post on X, saying she was happy the countdown video was posted. “It wasn’t the BBC that published it and it certainly wasn’t me,” he said. “But in a way I think I’m glad this leaked as it shows I was playing a little joke with the crew during the countdown“, he added.
So someone released the full video!
It wasn’t the BBC who released this and it certainly wasn’t me! But in a way I think I’m glad this is out there, as it shows I WAS having a bit of a joke with the crew during the countdown.
Again, so sorry it went out on air. It was meant… pic.twitter.com/94pATaKP7i
