During the last two years, since the pandemic began, in March 2020, new habits have taken over our routine. There are those who invested in their culinary skills and learned to make bread at home. There was also a group that discovered other talents by taking a thousand and one online courses, in the greatest “do it yourself” atmosphere. And, of course, we cannot fail to mention those who finally decided to start physical activity.
Within this context, one of the fevers of the period was the opening of sand courts in São Paulo . Outdoors and with guaranteed social distancing, many felt more comfortable and safe in these places to put their bodies in motion and learn a new sport – and the best: with the feeling of being on the beach, without having to leave the city.
Despite this rise in beach tennis there are companies that have been passing through this environment for a long time and that had to adapt their business to this new demand.
The company rip for example, has been in the footvolley market since 2011 – there are six units in São Paulo and two abroad – and soon adapted to the new customs.
Another example is the Play Tennis, For 40 years it has been a reference in court tennis and sought to expand to include the same tennis in its range of activities, but only on the sand.
Today, many of these places have become true entertainment centers, with restaurants, bars and a whole structure to, in addition to practicing sports, offer a pleasant day, as if visitors were right on the beach.
The Bali F12, in the north of São Paulo, has former futsal player Falcão as one of the partners. It all started at the end of 2020, during the beginning of the summer, when three friends got together to talk about this new rise of sand sports.
The dream was small: to have a sand court, changing rooms and a bar in the same place for classes on the sand of footvolley and beach tennis without forgetting that post-game meeting that everyone likes.
The location was not yet defined, but the idea was accepted for the beginning of the project: Thiago, Eduardo and Gabriel did not have in-depth knowledge about sports, bars or restaurants, but rather the desire to do something different.
This is how The Bali was born, a sports complex with three sand courts, a rooftop, themed bungalows, a clothing store and a Mediterranean restaurant with a Balinese influence. Drinks are also highlighted.
The investment was R$ 3.5 million and the inauguration took place two months ago, in March of this year, which only reinforces that this trend is still hot and that it is here to stay.
