The bear Jj4 innocent, an expert report exonerates her

There is a new chapter in the history ofbear Jj4 and it seems a decisive point in favor of the animal. A new report says that the bear, captured a few weeks ago and awaiting the judgment of the TAR on the request for slaughter, is innocent, it would not have been she who attacked Andrea Papi, the runner killed in Val di Sole, in Trentino.

Leal says it, Anti-Vivisectionist League. «From the report taken from the forensic veterinary report that comes from Leal Aurora Loprete’s legal representative, we learn that it was not the bear Jj4 that attacked Andrea Papi but the following is proved: animal dentitionfor forensic veterinary medicine, has the same value as human fingerprints and therefore science in this report denies the lies told by Fugatti (president of the autonomous province of Trento ed.): in fact, the reports state that: “Were detected lesions identifiable as penetrating a pair of canines characterized by a distance typical of the canines of an adult male bear”.

It would therefore be a male specimen and not the female Jj4 to attack. “In fact, female bears have smaller measurements than males both in terms of body mass and dental measurements and the report continues by adding other details: “As correctly reported by Dr. Barbareschi, the wounds found are not attributable to predatory activity, the body, in fact, shows no signs of consumption. The description of the injuries does not even correspond to the injuries that occur in the event of an attack aimed at eliminating the opponent”.

Loyal adds. «Since the thirty population is a population deriving from a few progenitor subjects, we know that it is characterized by limited genetic variability. If, on the one hand, various unofficial sources express themselves with adverbs of uncertainty (example: presumably), on the other hand, on the contrary, the provisions envisaged on the fate of the bear allow us to deduce that the identification took place with a high degree of certainty” .

The note continues. “Regarding the nature of the attack, it can be traced back to a protracted attempt to remove and dissuade the bear from the victim. Even with regard to this aspect, the evidence found does not allow the harmful action to be classified either as a deliberate attack or as a predation”.

Gian Marco Prampolini, President of Leal, explains: «By filing the forensic reports signed by Dr. Roberto Scarcella and Dr. Cristina Marchetti with the TAR, we will fight even more vigorously in all the appropriate forums so that the illegitimate and illogical culling orders cannot claim innocent victims. AND we ask right now for the immediate release of the bear».

Leal has been demonstrating for days with many other associations with which a table has been opened at the Ministry of the Environment.
