Today, on October 4, the embargo on the publication of reviews on the game Forza Horizon 5 officially lifted, so Russian and foreign specialized publications simultaneously expressed their opinion about the new arcade race. And, as was very expected, this opinion turned out to be quite positive – the new project Playground Games under the leadership of Microsoft received 91 points on the OpenCritic evaluation platform (the release is recommended by 98% of profile critics) and 90 points on Metacritic. Of course, gamers have not yet expressed their opinion (the release will take place on November 9), but the reviews of journalists are enough to draw conclusions right now.
Firstly, absolutely all journalists noted a fairly high level of the graphic component – Forza Horizon 5 looks stunning, realistic and well-developed. Secondly, virtual Mexico, and the events of the simulator are developing here, received a lot of positive comments from critics – the location is very bright, more picturesque and diverse than the same Great Britain from Forza Horizon 4. Thirdly, the journalists noted significant improvements in the field of gameplay – what was good in the fourth part, nobody touched, but there were improvements to the interface, the sound component, and the multiplayer became more socially saturated.

Also, judging by the reviews of the Western media, the developers have worked on the progress system – it has become more understandable, structured and convenient for those who want to reach certain heights, and a separate section with a collection of cars has also appeared. But, it is worth focusing on this, the familiar gameplay, physics of movements, various activities and popular modes have not gone anywhere – the developers took all the good decisions from Forza Horizon 4, which, of course, only had a positive effect on the final result. But the game, apparently, has practically no shortcomings – in technical terms, the product is quite high-quality.

For example, some journalists noted that certain categories of races are too long, especially during the festival, while others complained that the updated interface is less convenient. But, most likely, these are subjective flaws that cannot be put into serious disadvantages. So now we can safely say that Forza Horizon 5 is the best arcade racing simulator of the year, especially in the absence of any competition from major publishers.
