It seems that the year has barely started and we are already at Easter! Yes, time passed quickly, we blinked and we already had another edition of our traditional Easter Egg Tasting.
Chocoholics on duty, who eagerly seek out the season’s novelties, can get excited. Producers excel each year, innovate in fillings, mixtures and presentations, transforming the task of choosing a single egg into a true mission – delicious, that is to say.
This year, our team selected – among more than 100 brands – 45 Easter eggs. From small studios to big brands and confectioners and even renowned bakeries in São Paulo.
To help with this mission, Daniela Filomeno and the writing of CNN Travel & Gastronomy brought together a group that loves good chocolate to evaluate one by one, in a meeting that took place in the newsroom of the website.
Who participated? Part of the TV team at CNN, such as Daniel Adjuto, Karla Chaves, Tainá Falcão and Iuri Pitta, in addition to influencers Tamyris Roxo, Fred Sabbag, Miriam Abado, Dany Simon, Larissa Januário, Mariana Mallemont, Lilian Sá and Aletania Meinberg; in addition to Juliete Soulé, chef and Pâtisserie teacher at Le Cordon Bleu.
We divided into categories for eat with spoon, stuffed shell and gluten, lactose and refined sugar free. The criteria evaluated were: flavor, texture, filling and appearance. Each participant gave a score of zero to five on each topic, thus assembling a total score for each product.
in the category stuffed shellthe winner was the Gallette Chocolate, with jabuticaba and chestnut filling. In second place was Cora Patisseriewith the Nutella wafer egg, and thirdly, the CAU Chocolateswith marzipan filling and caramel with fleur de sel.
in the category for eat with spoonthe winner was the Atelier do Docewith egg nibs, with 70% chocolate shell, chocolate truffle filling and chocolate nibs topping.
In second place was We Love Cakeswith the honey bread egg, and in third there was a tie between Carole Crema with the crock matine egg, with milk chocolate shell with white chocolate truffle filling and crispy Ovaltine cream, and the Petite Fleurwith the Romeo e Julieta egg, white chocolate shell stuffed with layers of cream cheese and guava.
