One of the biggest innovations regarding the new generation hair dryers is negative ion technology. «Generated by special needles charged at high voltage, together with the jet of air they are able to shatter water molecules: once reduced to small particles, they are rapidly absorbed by the stem. The result is a hydrated hair, with compacted coating cuticles, the surface of which is smooth and shiny, perfectly reflective “, says Giampaolo Gori. «Furthermore, thanks to this mechanism, the hair dries faster and is subjected to high temperatures for a short period. …. and the correct method of use
In order for the new hairdryer, professional or mini-size for travel, to perform the precious functions of reducing the drying routine without affecting the integrity of the stem, disciplining, polishing and giving the desired styling, it is important to pay attention to how it is handled. Here are the 4 simple steps to master suggested by the hair artist Giampaolo Gori.
Drying. Prefer terry towels or cotton cloth, or micro-fiber towels specially created for this purpose. To avoid stressing the lengths, the right movement is to pat gently, while vigorous rubbing should be avoided.
The temperature. The intense heat damages the stem, because it dries up and in the long run causes dryness and fragility. The ideal is to always use the warm air jet.
The distance. If it is close, it intensifies the action exerted by high temperatures, so it is always advisable to keep a distance of at least 20-30 centimeters.
The direction. The jet of warm air must always be directed from top to bottom: it gives compactness to the covering cuticles, keeps frizzy hair under control and gives shine.
The two-in-one versions
The hair dryers equipped with brush, incorporated or interchangeable, are emerging versions that are advantageous for capillary integrity: they offer the performance of two tools at the same time and consequently avoid two hot styling cycles (hairdryer followed by brush + hairdryer).
If the hair is particularly frizzy and unmanageable, before use it is recommended to make a quick passage of the hairdryer with the warm air, always directed from top to bottom, to discipline them. It continues with the drying using the round brush to achieve a smooth and soft finish or, if the hairdryer is equipped with it, the flat one that gives an impeccable aplomb.
