The Roskachestvo Center for Digital Expertise conducted a study of the most popular mobile applications for watching movies and TV series – online cinemas.
A total of 40 applications were tested in the Russian segment of the App Store and Google Play – 20 for iOS and the same amount for Android.
The tests were carried out according to 168 criteria. During the study, specialists used applications as ordinary users: they searched for films and series, downloaded them, analyzed thematic selections, watched films, in the process they checked whether it was possible to set the quality, turn off the sound, turn on subtitles, rate films, if such an opportunity was provided.
As a result, ivi, KinoPoisk and Megogo were recognized as the best mobile online cinemas in the ranking of applications for watching films on both platforms, MTS TV took fourth place on Android, and Amediateka took fifth place on both platforms.
Online cinema ivi is recognized as a leader in functionality and security. The subscription price is 399 rubles per month, more than 80 thousand films are offered. Of the 200 most highly rated films and TV series among Russians, 130 (65%) are available on the service.
