The Best Places to Celebrate the 4th of July in the United States

In day 4th of July the United States celebrates the Independence Day conquered in 1776 after centuries of British rule. This historic milestone is celebrated with enthusiasm across the country, where families gather to enjoy colorful parades, fireworks and a variety of community events.

Fireworks are a festive tradition throughout the United States. According to the American Pyrotechnics Association, in 2017, the United States imports more than 25 million pounds of fireworks in honor of the day.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

One of the most traditional Fourth of July celebrations takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The city is also part of American history for starting the tradition of using fireworks. In 1777, one year after the signing of the document that made the United States independent, the city set off 13 fireworks on the Commons in honor of the 13 colonies of the time.

The festival Wawa Welcome America The Philadelphia Independence Day celebrations feature 16 days of fireworks to celebrate the occasion. The fireworks will be displayed at the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Admission is free.

There are several shows for the public at the event this Thursday (4). Singer Ne-Yo, known for hits like “So Sick”, and singer Kesha, owner of “Tik Tok”, are some of the confirmed attractions.

New York, in New York

New York City offers a variety of options for travelers to enjoy the Fourth of July. In addition to Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks, the annual fireworks display launched from various locations along the East River, featuring elaborate choreography and synchronized music, there are also parties and different options for watching the show.

It is possible to watch the fireworks display from the top of buildings, in seaside restaurants and also on boats.

Other cruise alternatives cost US$ 4,500 (R$ 25 thousand), US$ 340 (R$ 1,893) and US$ 299 ($1,664). You can still watch the fireworks from restaurants. City Winery at Pier 57, for example, is hosting a party with live entertainment, games and more.

Los Angeles, California

For those who want to watch the fireworks with a sea view, Los Angeles is a good place . Every year, fireworks take over the ocean at Marina del Rey. From there, you can watch the show from places like Burton Chace Public Park.

There is also the option of watching the fireworks show at sea. With Queen Mary cruises, you can even spend the night on the ship, which also offers snacks, family games, music, competitions and World War II plane flyover .

The capital of the USA, Washington DC celebrates this 4th of July with the second edition of Fourth of July in the District Concert . It is one of the most traditional places for the celebration. The party is free and offers seating on a first-come, first-served basis.

With a US Air Force band, the event features patriotic performances, a variety of musical genres and the presence of renowned artists, such as the singer Gavin DeGraw the hip hop icon Doug E. Fresh the country singer Reyna Roberts and more.

Organized by the city government, the festival also features several food trucks. The public can choose from cakes, ice cream, Mexican food and more. There is also an area for children.

Boston, Massachusetts

The traditional festival Boston Harborfest This year’s event features fireworks, live music from local artists, parades, and U.S. Army and Navy bands for five days — July 1 through July 6. There’s also a reading of the Declaration of Independence aloud.

As Independence Day coincides with the Navy Week in Boston the event features performances by the Northeast Navy Band.
