Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi, has revealed details about the display panel used in the top smartphone of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 line, which will be called the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
He stated that the Xiaomi 12 Pro is the first smartphone on the market to feature a 2K OLED display with LTPO technology and lower power consumption. It also adds that this is the best screen ever installed in Xiaomi smartphones and a new benchmark for the entire smartphone industry.
As a reminder, DisplayMate experts have awarded the Xiaomi 12 Pro display the Best Display for Smartphones. The device scored the highest A + display performance score and set or broke 15 smartphone display performance records (while the iPhone 13 Pro had 12 records). The screen is known to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The display features an all-new E5 fluorescent material, second-generation LTPO materials, Mirco-Lens microprism technology and intelligent dynamic refresh rate technology. Lei Jun added that the screen will be able to change its refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz depending on the scenario and application to effectively save battery power.
Sources say the display panel for the Xiaomi 12 Pro comes from the South Korean company Samsung Display, while the Xiaomi 12 and 12X phones will feature a 6.28-inch Full HD + display from TCL CSOT.
Lei Jun previously stated that the Xiaomi Mi 12 with FullHD screen is the best Xiaomi phone to date and a new milestone for the company’s compact phones. He also added that the Xiaomi 12 was created in response to requests from the owners of the Xiaomi Mi 6.
