The beta version of Android 12 found a built-in game mode: what it can do

With the surge in popularity of gaming smartphones, manufacturers have started adding a special mode to their Android firmware that tweaks the hardware and software for maximum performance. It seems that now Google itself will have its own game mode – it was discovered in the first beta version of Android 12. This was reported by a user of the Reddit portal under the nickname Kilarasx.

The official Android 12 game mode is found in the Settings app as part of the Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls feature. The innovation has appeared on the “Schedules” page of the “Do not disturb” section. Based on the current interface, mobile gamers will be able to quickly capture screenshots, record gameplay screens, monitor frame rates (FPS), and disable app notifications.

Notably, the menu also allows you to turn on “game optimization” and start a live broadcast in YouTube Live – these settings are presented separately in the form of two large cards. It looks like the developers themselves will have to include support for the Android game mode in the games released on the platform.
