Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Joe Biden will discuss Ukraine during their talks via teleconference scheduled for Tuesday, as well as bilateral relations and implementation of agreements reached at the Geneva summit in June, the Kremlin announced today – a long-awaited meeting amid escalating tensions between Ukraine and Moscow.

“We confirm” that this meeting will take place on Tuesday, “said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov, quoted by Interfax news agency.

Washington accuses Russia of preparing an impending invasion of Ukraine, something Moscow denies.

The leaders of Russia and the United States are ready to hold talks via secure video call, a White House spokesman said earlier.
