Spanish police announced today that they seized 2.55 tons hashish and 30 kg marijuana during a major operation in the region of Aragon. This is the largest drug seizure ever recorded in the country Spain. Police made three arrests and seized automatic weapons and other items.
The success of Spanish authorities came as part of an operation that had been underway since the beginning of the month in the town of Sos del Rey Católico. The prosecuting authorities focused their investigation on a house suspected of being used as a “cabin” by drug dealers.
According to the head of the local police, Carlos Garcia, “the drugs were stored there before they were sold, in this particular case probably to Europe.”
Spanish police also seized an AK-47 rifle, a Colt pistol, mobile phones, fake license plates, a radar jamming device and a metal detector, Xinhua reported and the Athens News Agency reported.
