With the positive vote of the coalition and official opposition, the bill of the Ministry of Development and Investments “Sanitation of the Elefsina Shipyards and other provisions of a developmental nature” was voted in favor by the full session of the Parliament.
On the principle and the entirety of the bill, ND and SYRIZA voted “for”, PASOK-KINAL voted against. KKE and MeRA 25, while the Hellenic Solution was “present”.
The convergence of ND and SYRIZA was achieved after the Minister of Development and Investments accepted the amendment submitted by the official opposition party as a prerequisite for the relevant committee of the Parliament to be informed of the final plan for the rehabilitation of the Elefsina shipyards, before this should be submitted to the court, as well as an addition to article 2 of the bill, which states that the workers’ claims “will be paid within 120 days from the final and irrevocable date of the transfers”.
The amended article 2 of the bill was upvoted by ND and SYRIZA, while PASOK-KINAL, KKE and MERA 25 voted against. The Greek solution was “present”. SYRIZA’s parliamentary amendment was upvoted by ND, SYRIZA and Hellenic Solution and PASOK-KINAL, KKE and Mera 25 voted against it.
