The bill on strategic investments and companies – technoblasts was approved

In two years, we have achieved 23 new strategic investment entries, with a total budget of 5 billion, and 4,000 jobs, said Deputy Minister of Development Nikos Papathanasis, in his final position on the draft law on strategic investments and the companies the majority of the Parliament. Both the current bill and the next ones that will come to the Parliament soon, serve the purpose of attracting investments, said Mr. Papathanasis. What we are doing is what the Prime Minister said from the first moment of the ND government, in 2019. We want to create a pro-investment environment, that is why all our legislation is “on an absolute frequency”, on the frequency of growth, and in this direction, every article of this bill and those to come, will add to GDP, will add jobs for young people, will bring back those who are abroad, and any added value to GDP will create a share of growth that we will make it available to those who need it, said Mr. Papathanasis.

The deputies of ND were in favor of the principle of the bill, while the deputies of the opposition were against. It is also noted that some articles on the establishment of companies-technoblasts were accepted by a wider majority.

Also voted by a majority, (1) the amendment for the creation in the area of ​​PYRKAL (which is removed immediately) of the green space named “Andreas Lentakis”, (2) the amendment that includes – among others – the granting of an honorary benefit, amounting to 200 euros per month, to the officers of the National Guard and the National Guard of Cyprus (who received Greek citizenship), due to his participation in the events of Megalonisos, (3) the amendment which provides – inter alia – the extension by one year (up to 31 / 12/2022) of the deadline for the completion of the investment plans of Laws 3299/2004 and 3908/2011 and (4) the amendment that enables the ministries to pay the media directly for the promotion of advertising messages.
