Biostar announced the release of the B660MX-E PRO motherboard. The microATX form factor board is based on the Intel B660 chipset and supports 12th generation Intel Core processors. The manufacturer refers it to the entry level, positioning it as the basis for a home entertainment system. The board’s power subsystem is built according to a ten-phase scheme.

The board has four slots that can accommodate DDR4 DIMM modules with a total capacity of up to 128 GB. Modules operating at effective frequencies up to 4600 MHz are supported. Expansion options are provided by the presence of two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 4.0 x1 slot. For drives, there is an M.2 slot, which also has a PCIe 4.0 interface, and SATA 6 Gb / s ports.

The board features Wi-Fi 6E, a Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, and two USB 2.0 ports. The sound subsystem is based on the ALC897 codec. Given the positioning, the lack of an optical audio interface looks a bit strange. The list of video outputs includes HDMI with support for 4K, DVI-D and VGA. The manufacturer does not disclose the price.
