At a meeting of the Presnensky court of Moscow, the prosecutor’s office demanded to be sentenced to Blogger Valery Fedyakin, known in the crypto community as Bitmam, by ten years in prison in a general regime colony in the case of large fraud with cryptocurrency.

In addition, the prosecutor’s office asked the court to satisfy the claims of the victims in the amount of about 2.2 billion rubles (approximately $ 21.3 million) and impose a fine of 1 million rubles.

Initially, Fedyakin suspected In financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which could lead to accusations of treason, but in the end, investigators focused on economic crimes.

Now Fedyakin is accused of fraud on an especially large scale associated with the exchange of fiat money for cryptocurrency. According to the investigation, she attracted investors, promising high profitability from investments in digital assets, but instead appropriated other people’s funds. According to the testimony, Bitmama deceived at least four Russian businessmen using a scheme of fictitious cross -border payments, which became popular in Russia in 2022, after the introduction of international sanctions.

The Investigative Committee believes that Fedyakina organized a financial pyramid and seemed to potential customers as a successful crypto -briefer with offices in Moscow, Dubai, Monaco, Serbia and Turkey, although in fact this was “part of the cover”.

The Izvestia newspaper claims that the blogger used its channels on social networks to attract customers, promising profitability of up to 30% per annum from cryptocurrency investments, including bitcoin and stablecoins like USDT. However, after receiving funds, communication with customers broke off, and the money was transferred to controlled cryptocurrencies.

Fedyakina does not plead guilty and considers himself a victim of the actions of former business partners. During the trial, Bitmam said that the arrest was a “planned action” by competitors who wanted to take possession of her business, and that she intends to continue the struggle for her reputation.

The defense tried to mitigate the preventive measure, referring to the birth of a child in the prison, but the court rejected the petition, indicating the presence of a blogger of residence in the UAE and a high risk of escape.

Earlier, Valery Fedyakina turned to cryptocurrency for help and support through the letter to the executive director of Indefi Bank Sergey Mendeleev.
