The accident is reminiscent of the case of 5-year-old Ryan in Morocco, who had fallen into a well and was found deadafter an operation that lasted five days to rescue him.
Haidar’s grandfather, 50-year-old Haji Abdul Hadi, explained that the child fell into the hole of the well as he tried to “help” the adults to open a new well in his drought-stricken village.
According to official sources, the child slipped into this hole, 25 meters deep, before being pulled with the help of a rope to a depth of 10 meters, where he was trapped.
