The Brazilian Minister of Health raised his middle finger at protesters

Her Minister of Health Brazil found positive in COVID-19 while attending the UN General Assembly in New York. A video that later saw the light of day showed him raising his middle finger at protesters after a meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Brazilian journalist Raquel Krähenbühl posted on Twitter a nine-second video Monday night showing angry Marcelo Queiroga reacting in a van as he left the United Nations building.

“The video from the Ministry of Health that raises its middle finger at protesters in New York,” Krähenbühl tweeted, with the video garnering more than a million views as of Wednesday morning.

Queiroga, who said he was vaccinated against Chinese Sinovac this year, has been cracking down on protesters protesting against Brazilian President Zaire Bolsonaro over his handling of the pandemic, according to the Daily Mail.

“A minister goes to New York, points the middle finger at the protesters and comes out positive about Covid. “It sounds like a lie, but it is not,” he wrote in another message the next day.

The fully vaccinated minister with coronavirus and quarantine

On Tuesday, the Brazilian presidential office announced that the fully vaccinated Queiroga had contracted coronavirus and would be quarantined in New York for two weeks.

Queiroga had met with Boris Johnson on Monday, with whom he shook hands and the two politicians stood side by side, while the British Prime Minister was not wearing a mask.

According to CBS, Bolsonaro is skeptical of vaccines and had previously boasted of attending the UN meeting without being vaccinated.

Bolsonaro’s son, Eduardo, also criticized the New York mayor on Tuesday, when he warned the Brazilian president not to come to the city because of his stance on the vaccine.
