“The Buccaneers”: second season will feature Leighton Meester, from “Gossip Girl”

Although there is no release date yet, the second season of “The Buccaneers “, Apple TV+ series announced big news: the actress Leighton Meester (from “Gossip Girl”) will join the cast of the production. The series is inspired by the author’s last unfinished novel. Edith Wharton , Pulitzer Prize winner .

To announce the actress’ arrival to the cast, Apple TV+ also released a promotional video with Meester. Check it out:

“The Buccaneers” reports the story of a group of young American women who travel to London in 1870 to participate in the debutante season, with the aim of finding rich husbands.

The series stars Kristine Froseth (“The Assistant”), Alisha Boe (“13 Reasons Why”), Josie Totah (“Galera do Barulho”), Aubri Ibrag (“Diving Club”), Imogen Waterhouse (“Nocturnal Animals”) and Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men”).

The first season of “The Buccaneers” is now available on Apple TV+. The second season does not yet have a premiere date.
