One of the most anticipated hotels of the year has just opened: the Bulgari Hotel Paris. On Avenue George V, between the Seine and the Champs-Élysées, in the heart of the Golden Triangle, an emblem of luxury and fashion in the French capital, it is a unique encounter between Italian hospitality, Bulgari’s jeweler DNA and the glorious history of the Ville Lumière . A spectacular hotel, inaugurated with a sparkling reception for sixty guests of honor welcomed by Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin and the General Manager Sylvain F. Ercoli.
There were the model and singer Carla Bruni, model Tina Kunakey, actors and Bulgarian ambassadors such as François Civil and Adèle Exarchopoulos, Léa Seydoux and model / philanthropist Natalia Vodianova, and then the artist Yan Pei Ming who for the occasion unveiled the work created exclusively for the hotel: an oil portrait of Monica Vitti, icon of Italian art and cinema, wearing a Bulgari Alta Gioielleria necklace, now hanging in the lobby above the eight-pointed star of the House present in the floor.
The reception began with a cocktail in the lounge and then continued with a dinner in the Niko Romito restaurant: the three Michelin stars will also be in charge of catering for the Parisian address. In his style, which revisits the Italian culinary tradition with its avant-garde techniques, for the inauguration he thought of a sublime menu with white truffle tortelli and veal cheek in Barolo paired with some extraordinary bottles of Imperiale di Sassicaia 2016.
A taste of the new experience that the great chef has conceived for Paris: an anthology of the best Italian dishes reimagined through a contemporary vision and sophisticated essentiality, a journey through excellent flavors to be savored in a joyful environment with a light touch. The restaurant is almost hidden in the heart of a private garden, extremely refined in its furnishings, all Italian, in the acoustics, and for special occasions it offers a room for maximum privacy. The evening then continued in the Bulgari Bar, with a private concert by Carla Bruni, iconic Bulgari ambassador, Italian-French that embodies the same values of excellence, creativity, beauty and emotions of the Maison.
The evening was an opportunity to preview guests the treasures of this hotel that is a hymn to beauty, elegance, refined hospitality. It is located in a building completely redesigned by the architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel which, in addition to the restyling of the interiors, have completely rethought the façade in collaboration with the Valode & Pistre studio: now with his two-story windows is a clear reference to the famous aristocratic palaces designed by Andrea Palladio during the Italian Renaissance and also stands out for the iconic Parentesi motif, also used in the jewelry collection of the same name, as an invitation to live a memorable experience, in the place where the glamor of Rome and the elegance of Paris meet.
The touch is the unmistakable Bulgari one even in the interior with a range of colors and textures that
characterize the properties of Milan, London, Dubai, Shanghai and Beijing, with marble, silk, granite, tapestries expertly mixed with design pieces and works of art by the best French artisans.
Already the lounge is a welcome you won’t forget with the lines of the ceiling inspired by the design of a Bulgari clutch that dialogue with those of the walnut floor, with the sheen of an Altai yellow and rose gold silk carpet, precious fabrics that flank the essential lines of Atollo lamps, the delicate intertwining of Pinecone lights by Fontana Arte, alongside an extraordinary collection of Gio Ponti’s ceramics, vases by Carlo Scarpa and portraits of celebrities from the Bulgari archives.
A unique style, to be relived in 76 between rooms and suites between 42 and 400 square meters, most of which have a private loggia overlooking the internal garden or a balcony overlooking Avenue George V. All with light shades that enhance the hazelnut and coffee shades of the furniture, they are embellished with design pieces and works of art, amenities that make the trip even more special such as minibars presented in a travel trunk with Italian specialties and drinks by Niko Romito, marble bathrooms (some with private hammam) where you can try the products created ad hoc by the master perfumer Jacques Cavalier, personalized services, like the personal butler for each suite.
The big dream is the Bulgari Penthouse with 400 square meters inside which include, among other things, a private fitness room, a hammam, a pantry, a private study with its own cigar humidor. It is the ultimate in refinement, with unique pieces such as an antique Altai carpet hand-woven in Anatolia and vases by Gio Ponti, shots by photographer Irene Kun, and with a view that embraces the Sacré Coeur, the Grand Palais and the Tour Eiffel. It seems to touch them with a finger from the large garden terrace of 600 square meters with oaks, magnolias and philadelphians flanking red currant bushes, cottage garden-style apple and pear trees.
It is a green oasis too the large private garden of the hotel, a refuge among beech, maple and strawberry trees where you can also stop to taste the specialties of the restaurant and bar, which overlook it. Yes the bar, another reason that is worth the trip to this hotel, also because the barman Leonardo Zanini has thought of a unique offer that combines the best artisan spirits with Niko Romato’s juices to be sipped in sophisticated cocktails and accompanied by small tastings with which, for the first time, Bulgari hosts aperitif time in Paris.
The Spa is a hymn to the spa tradition of ancient Rome, with walls covered with Vicenza spas that pair up with works of art: 1,300 square meters, spread over two levels, open to both hotel guests and external local customers, where you can take care of yourself by trying customized and developed with spa specialists, a wet path, and avant-garde swim in a semi-Olympic pool or extremely relaxing moments in a vitality pool decorated with a mosaic that exactly reflects the style of those present in the Baths of Caracalla in Rome. It is inspired by the dome of the Pantheon, however, la Spa Suite: with two treatment beds, a hammam, hydromassage tub covered in green onyx slabs, for decidedly romantic moments.
To keep fit, open 24/7, there is a 120-meter fitness area where you can try out the training program Workshop Gymnasium: the famous method of Lee Mullins, one of the best personal coaches in the world.
