The bust of the legend of Lyric, Maria Callas, was permanently placed inside the Rome opera. It is a work by Greek sculptor Nikos Floros, made of steel, totaling seventy pounds. It is recalled that the Greek loudspeaker had left the scene of the Rome Opera House- with a great deal of vocal problems- before the first performance of “Norma” was completed in January 1958. Soprano Myrto Papathanasiou and pianist Yiannis Tsanakaliotis. It was a first move of symbolic “reconstruction”, six decades after the interruption of Maria Calas’ collaboration with this theater.
