The Caixin services PMI surprises with a rise to 53.4 in September

The index China Caixin Services PMI It surprised positively with a rise of almost seven points. The indicator jumped to 53.4 from the previous 46.7, improving the 50.7 expected by the market.

According to the IHS Markit statement, the services sector shows a renewed and solid increase in September. With the exception of the August dip, the sector’s output has increased every month since May 2020.

The improvement was supported by a strong increase in total new business at the end of the third trimester. The companies mentioned that firmer market conditions and a larger number of customers had fueled the renewed upturn in sales as the COVID-19 situation improved. However, foreign demand fell slightly in September, after two months of fairly stable export work.
