The camera caught two police officers brutally beating a young man

Federal charges were eventually brought against two police officers by New Jersey of New York, when they were caught in the lens beating a teenage boy in December.

The 29-year-old police officer Kevin Patino and his 28-year-old colleague Kendry Tineo-Restituyo are accused of beating 20-year-old Osamah Alsaidi, depriving him of all his rights as a citizen and then lying about the incident.

On December 14, 2020, the two police officers approached the victim on the street. When the 19-year-old then tried to escape, since he was not told why he had been immobilized, Patino beat him repeatedly and his colleague threw him to the ground, continuing to beat him, according to the prosecution.

Then they submitted a false report, full of omissions and lies. And it was video what showed the truth. The police claimed that they had been attacked by the young man, something that is not confirmed by the material.

If convicted, the two officers face a $ 250,000 fine and up to 30 years in prison.

Attorney General Rachael Honig was the catapult, saying that police officers who abuse their power “violate our Constitution and erode trust in institutions.”
