The Carosello returns with the Accademia della Stella

When he expected Carousel he also expected Ugo Tognazzi: he played the part of a funny slacker employee, in unforgettable sketches for millions of Italians. They were the first Negroni tv spotof which Tognazzi was an employee: a company that has made a piece of Italian history not only for its cured meats – such as Negronetto, the first “portable salami” – but for the way it communicated. Hence the idea ofAcademy of the Star: an initiative to enhance i young Italian creative talents that this year, in its second edition, in homage to 100 years since the birth of Ugo Tognazzi that from a former employee of the Star of Negroni became a star of Italian cinema, is dedicated to videomakers.

The Carousel 4.0

After a journey into the world of illustration, the Accademia della Stella proposes us for 2022 a new journey into cinema. It does so through the lens of young Italian videomakers who will make it the 4.0 version of the Carousel: a new way of imagining the evening program that brought the wonder, the Made in Italy brands into the homes of Italians and that marked the days of children who were waiting for the end to go to sleep, of which Negroni was a pioneer because , in addition to being among the first Italian companies to bet on poster design (with works of authorship), it was also among the first companies to land on TV.

If then the Carosello was an absolute innovation, how could a brand like Negroni be told today, with the new digital media, that has made innovation a distinctive trait? The Stella brand will answer this question by involving three excellences in the Italian training landscape in the field of video production, that is Naba – New Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, IULM – Free University of Languages and Communication and the Experimental Center of Cinematography: their students, camera in hand, will tell the spirit of the brand, its history and its values in the modern world Carousel 4.0.
