The Catalan Government rectifies and will allow concert halls to open from next Monday

The management of the Generalitat de Catalunya In the de-escalation of the restrictions to stop the contagion of coronavirus, a new controversial chapter has lived today. The Government has assured this afternoon that concert halls will open next Monday (with a capacity of 50% and a maximum of 500 people), as announced last Thursday, despite the fact that the Official Gazette of the Generalitat (DOGC) expressly prohibits it in the resolution, published this afternoon, which informs of the plan that comes into effect on November 23.

Sources of the Catalan Executive have attributed this point of the resolution to “an error” and have explained that a modification will be published in the next few hours.

In this way, the Generalitat has come to terms with the criticism received from the Association of Concert Halls of Catalonia, which groups locals like Apolo, Razzmatazz, Bikini, Sidecar O Salamandra. After knowing the official text, the entity has described it as “the most shameful action” of the Government that Pere AragonÚs now heads.

In the resolution signed by the Minister of Health, Alba Vergas, and the head of the Department of the Interior, Miquel SamperThere is also another last minute modification that will negatively affect the culture sector. Attendance at shows will not be one of the reasons included in the exceptions of municipal confinement (regional, from the second phase) currently implemented from 06:00 on Friday to Monday at the same time.

On the other hand, the plan published in the DOGC has included a change in the restoration hours and eliminates the limitation that established that, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., only the premises were allowed to be open to serve dinner. In the final text, this rule disappears and, consequently, all bars and restaurants they will be able to attend the public from 06.00 to 21.30 (until 11:00 pm for home services).
