Intel’s Rocket Lake-S processors are due out next month. So far, very few tests outside of synthetic benchmarks get on the Web, but even such results give some understanding of the new products.

Today’s testing hero is the Core i5-11400 – probably the youngest CPU in the new line. Recall that Core i3 and lower processors will be Comet Lake Refresh.
Core i5-11400 is identical to Core i5-10400 in configuration, that is, it contains six cores with Hyper-Threading support. The frequencies of the latter are 2.9-4.3 GHz, while the new items are 2.9-4.4 GHz. That is, the difference in frequencies is minimal, but do not forget about the new architecture.

And it is she who gives a good performance boost. In Geekbench, the novelty is gaining about 1500 points in single-threaded mode and about 6600 points in multi-threaded mode. At the same time, the Core i5-10400 model is gaining only 1110 and 5700 points, respectively. In addition, the novelty worked with not the fastest DDR4-2133 memory.
Compared to AMD processors, the six-core Ryzen 5 5600X scores as follows: 1600 and 8100 points.
