The cheapest electric car in Europe can already be ordered

At the end of March, Dacia launched pre-orders for the Dacia Spring, which has already been named Europe’s cheapest electric vehicle.

The manufacturer has confirmed that nearly 6,000 Romanians have registered to buy the car. The first customers will receive their cars in September, the rest will be able to receive them in the first months of 2022 due to the uncertain situation with semiconductor products. Romania was in the “first wave” of countries, it joined France, Spain, Hungary, Italy and Germany.

Dacia has started pre-orders for the Spring Comfort Plus version, which will cost € 18,100 including VAT. However, upon prior order, cars are sold for 16,800 euros. In various European countries, there are subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles, for example, in France, taking into account subsidies, the price is 12 403 euros. In Hungary, the price including all discounts is 10,900 euros.

The dimensions of the Dacia Spring are 3734 x 1770 x 1516 mm, the wheelbase is 2423 mm. The Dacia Spring electric car is equipped with a 33 kW or 45 hp electric motor. with a torque of 125 Nm. The top speed is 125 km / h and the range is 225 km on the combined cycle and 295 km in the city on WLTP. The battery capacity is 26.8 kWh.

It takes less than 14 hours to fully charge the battery from a 220 V network, and with a 7.4 kW Wallbox terminal, charging takes 5 hours. A 30 kW adapter is provided that allows you to charge the battery up to 80% in less than an hour.
