Formerly known as ‘Gelsenkirchen’, the town in the Ruhr Valley has been renamed ‘Swiftkirchen’ ahead of US superstar Taylor Swift’s three concerts on her ‘Eras Tour’ later this month. A yellow sign bearing the name “Swiftkirchen” decorated with a pink portrait of the pop icon has been placed in the city center and several others will be in popular locations in honor of the tens of thousands of fans who are expected to visit on concert days in July 17, 18 and 19, as reported by the German news agency dpa.
