The Code of Ethics for Artificial Intelligence, the first in the history of Russia, was signed

Today, October 26, within the framework of the first international forum “Ethics of Artificial Intelligence: The Beginning of Trust”, the “Code of Ethics for Artificial Intelligence” was officially signed, which was developed on the basis of the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence of Russia until 2030, but has no legal strength. The authors of this code were employees of the Alliance in the field of artificial intelligence, the Analytical Center for the Government of Russia and the Ministry of Economic Development. From now on, this document is part of the federal project “Artificial Intelligence” – this is a strategy for the development of the information society for the next ten years.

It is worth noting that for the first time the idea of creating a kind of moral and ethical code in relation to artificial intelligence was voiced in December 2020 by Russian President Vladimir Putin:

“In addition to various administrative and legislative restrictions, it seems to me that we need to think about how to develop an internal moral code of work for the environment. In many environments, it is applied and operates even more effectively than written law, ”said Vladimir Putin during the AI Journey conference on AI.

Accordingly, Sergei Nakvasin, deputy head of the Analytical Center under the Russian government, said that the Russian code of ethics consists of 33 points that reflect the basic principles of interaction in society when a person is daily surrounded by robots and various smart technologies. In addition, similar rules and regulations are already being developed in several European countries, the government of which wants to regulate the use of artificial intelligence in the daily life of people, although no one in the world has yet succeeded in creating AI in full understanding of this meaning.
