The comedian who stirred up reactions by writing “I’m in Skopje, in Macedonia – the homeland of Alexander the Great…”

A post by the British-Irish stand up comedian, Jimmy Carr, who recently visited North Macedonia, has caused many reactions among Greek social media users. “I’m in Skopje, Macedonia – home of Alexander the Great, who – fun fact – has the same middle name as Winnie the Pooh (s.s. from Alexander the Great),” wrote the comedian, who is one of the most successful of its kind and was found in the neighboring country at the end of November. Naturally, there was a commotion in the comments of the post, with many Facebook users writing that it is not about Macedonia, but about North Macedonia, while some others seemed particularly annoyed, using some not-so-flattering designations.
