The commercial world of Athens declares its satisfaction with the abolition of the institution of intermediate discounts provided for in the draft law of the Ministry of Development and Investments entitled “Sanitation of the Elefsina Shipyards and other provisions of a developmental nature”, which is being processed by the relevant Production and Trade Committee , in Parliament.
The president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce Stavros Kafounis said:
“The abolition of the outdated institution of intermediate discounts was a standing request of the commercial world and is a reward for the coordinated actions of all its entities, but also a personal justification of a long-term effort.
The strongest but also most serious sector of the Greek economy, as it proved in the recent health crisis, is indisputably the pillar of the Greek economy and we all must create the appropriate conditions that will allow it to develop with competitive businesses at a pan-European level. That is why we at the Athens Chamber of Commerce will continue to demand the resolution of all the “easy” issues, so that we can focus carefully on the difficult ones”
Finally, the president of the ESA also sent a letter of thanks to the Minister of Development and Investments, Adonis Georgiadis, “emphasizing the importance of the ministry’s intervention today, making an appointment to jointly deal with the next major issues that concern the sector” as noted in the association’s announcement.
