The contemporary gentleman according to Givenchy

Vaporizing a perfume is a choice that generates a sense of belonging. Givenchywith the new fragrance Gentleman Society rewrites the codes of what it means to belong to a community of gentlemen. A word that has resonated in the Maison since at least 1975, when the first Gentleman was launched. Today it means being part of a community of interconnected individuals, united, outside of any mainstream logic, the source of inspiration for an engaging fragrance that is like no other. A community open to those who recognize themselves in this state of mind and in the values of respect, open-mindedness, elegance, attention and empathy towards others.

Conceived as a symbol of interconnection, the perfume with a sculptural and sophisticated bottle is more than ever an emblem of the Gentleman Society and reflects the Givenchy fashion collections, which combine streetwear influences and Couture refinement.

Gentleman Society is a woody floral aromatic fragrance with an intriguing and distinctive trail.
Like all the olfactory creations of the Maison, it is characterized by the identity signature of the flower-wood duality. It reveals a heart of wild narcissus flower, crossed by a deep woody accord. Composed by perfumers Maïa Lernout and Karine Dubreuil, it is made up of high quality raw materials, selected both for their unique olfactory properties and for traceability.

Ode to vetiver

Gentleman Society brings together a vetiver quartet of different origins and backgrounds. This unprecedented union allows the olfactory richness of this essential ingredient to be expressed, with an original reference to the Maison’s 4G logo. The essence of vetiver from Madagascar, derived from organic farming, reveals smoky and toasted, almost salty facets, while vetiver from Uruguay enriches the composition with an intense note of cocoa and balsam. Vetiver from Haiti appears as a bright and lively essence, with green and woody hazelnut accents. It is also subjected to CO2 extraction, a qualitative process that respects the environment, which allows us to obtain a scent of fresh roots with sweet and sour accents of citrus grapefruit and a very pure expression.

With an exclusive party in Paris, Givenchy celebrated Gentleman Society, the fragrance that embodies a precise way of being and unites a community of creative talents. Between immersive activities and late-night DJ sets, in the Gentleman Society House in Place Des Invalides, guests could get involved in four experiences: in the collaborative room the walls were like canvases on which to write inspirational phrases, then transformed into a work of art by graffiti artist Antoine Coste; in the photobooth everyone could become the protagonist of the campaign by printing personalized photos, and then continue on an olfactory journey to discover the perfume and to have their name engraved on the bottle. All between cocktails, musical performances and a dance floor in which to express one’s identity in an inclusive and dynamic environment. And write the story of a new generation of gentlemen.
