The graphics processors of modern video cards operate at frequencies well above 2 GHz, which just a couple of generations ago seemed impossible.
It is not surprising that just one of the new generation adapters made it possible to set a new frequency record. The renowned overclocker der8auer managed to overclock the PowerColor RX 6900 XT Liquid Devil Ultimate GPU to over 3 GHz.
To begin with, with the native water block, we managed to achieve a frequency of 2820 MHz in the 3DMark test. At the same time, the GPU temperature was 86 degrees.
Extreme overclocking using liquid nitrogen allowed us to raise the frequency to an incredible 3225 MHz! And this is a new record for video cards.
Taking a new milestone has become possible thanks to the release by AMD of a new revision of its top GPU – Navi 21 XTXH. Together with it, the previously existing 3 GHz limitation for the GPU frequency was removed (now it is 4 GHz), which allowed us to conquer new heights.
