The coupons for digital aid to businesses are coming

Preparations for the large-scale subsidy program for the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises from the Vouchers Recovery and Durability Fund are progressing rapidly. The goal is to start the program in the coming months, however, as mentioned in the technical bulletins of the projects, fast maturation movements are required.

At the beginning of the month, the Digital Transformation of Enterprises project, which has a budget of 180 million euros (90 million euros for 2022 and 90 million euros for 2023), joined the Fund for Recovery and Sustainability for the digital upgrade of a total of 100,000 small and medium-sized enterprises.

The investments that will be subsidized will target the technologies and services that promote the digitization of small and medium enterprises, and in particular electronic payments, electronic sales and electronic invoicing applications. Cybersecurity applications will also be subsidized.

Also last week, the 100m-euro project for the Industrial Data Platforms project joined the Recovery Fund, with appropriations for this year being budgeted at 50m euros.

The project provides funding for the development of services based on modern technologies aimed at the operation of infrastructure and services for small and medium enterprises (Cloud Infrastructure & Services) and business support for the development of infrastructure and services CloudOnly.

Battle with time

As mentioned in the technical bulletins of the above projects, the specific interventions are characterized by significant challenges for the timely and successful implementation. “This will be achieved through proper planning and maturation, which is perhaps the most critical success factor of the action and will require significant preparation by teams that have the relevant experience and know-how,” it says.

It is recognized that such a -massive- action can be activated only if a high level of readiness is ensured, where every detail will be provided, while it should also be based on simple, understandable and fully automated management procedures, which will ensure minimization. of human intervention.

Given that the goal is to create a comprehensive mechanism to support the process of granting aid through vouchers within the first quarter of this year, the Recovery Fund has included another project to provide services to support the above actions with a budget of about 20 million euros. .

The contractors of the project will be invited to specialize the above programs but also to design and implement a mechanism for managing the applications for grants, as well as to support the companies that will receive the grants.
